You can easily leave your chainsaw on the ground more often because this heavy duty handsaw is extremely fast, but also lighter, safer, cleaner, and quieter. Also, a little workout is a nice bonus. The Genki Temagari is easy to carry in the side of your backpack and can be used for path clearing or in wilderness areas where chainsaws are not allowed for example.
It may take some practice and patience to make the first cut with the Genki Temagari. Due to its progressive teeth ratio (from 3 to 5 teeth per 30 mm), the teeth closest to the handle are finer than those near the end of the blade, which makes the first cut a little easier. Once this saw gets going, it is unstoppable!
The long blade is full tang, making this saw incredibly strong and offers you more control. The comfortable Genki grip consist of just two rubber parts perfectly encasing the steel. The Genki grip has no bolts or screws, which absorbs vibrations and can be loosened without needing tools.
A short Japanese lesson: ‘Genki’ means ‘good health’ and ‘Temagari’ is a traditional Japanese saw, specific for the angular shape of the handle.
The Genki Temagari is suitable for cutting fresh wood. The teeth stay sharp for a long time, like all Silky saws. If it ever becomes necessary, the teeth can be filed with a Silky file.
The Genki Temagari comes with a sturdy nylon case with Velcro closure. The case includes a belt holder with D-ring to secure the saw.
The blade must be kept clean to maintain its efficiency. Resin dissolves in olive oil, which is an effective and environmental friendly way to maintain the blade with. More aggressive liquids can damage the rubber material of the handle.
When not using the saw, make sure it is dry at all times. Store the saw in its case in a dry place.
