This Woodboy is a favored handsaw among professional woodworkers and is ideal for crosscutting and mitre sawing. The blade of this Kataba model is slightly thicker than that of the Dozuki model. The reinforced back on the blade is therefore not needed and as such the sawing depth is not limited either.

The thin, flexible blade has the shape of a trapezium and is equipped with Silky’s non-set teeth. This gives a fine, straight saw cut, which is ideal for making dovetail joints. The blade is grinded biconcave to enable a good discharge of saw dust.
The Woodboy saws on the pulling motion which hardly requires any effort. You can saw effortlessly and with great control and the result will be silky smooth. With proper use, sanding will become superfluous!
The blade can be locked in two settings for various sawing positions. After use, the blade can be folded easily through which the sharp teeth fall fully into the handle. This way, the wood saw can be stored safely without damaging the blade or its surroundings.
The aluminum handle is covered with rubber. This ensures a good grip and reduces vibrations. The Woodboy is one of those saws to keep at hand for making those little, simple saw cuts that seem to be present in every project.
The Woodboy is suited for hard, dry wood. The blade has a length of 240 mm and is available with two different teeth configurations: 26 teeth per 30 mm and 32 teeth per 30 mm.
The Woodboy 240-32 is also available as Dozuki model with a reinforced back (Dovetail).
Please be aware that the saw blades of the Kataba model and the Dozuki model are not interchangeable.
The blade must be kept clean to maintain its efficiency. Resin dissolves in olive oil, which is an effective and environmental friendly way to maintain the blade with. More aggressive liquids can damage the rubber material of the handle.
When not using the saw, make sure it is dry at all times. Store the saw in a dry place, preferably in an appropriate holster.
